The title says it all! Sunday we just relaxed, but Saturday was a blast! Friday Dean and I decided to possibly go away for the weekend, but decided not to. We knew we wanted to go for a fun drive/outting on Saturday and we both had an idea of what we wanted to do, but didn't really mention it on Friday. Saturday morning we woke up and Dean asked if I wanted to go to Solvang (for those not from California, Solvang is a Danish town approximately 30 miles north of Santa Barbara). Dean had never been and I hadn't been for YEARS!!! Dean suggested it, thinking I wouldn't want to go, but all along I wanted to go there too. So, we hopped in the car and headed up the coast to Solvang. We don't have any pictures, but we had a great time! There was a HUGE turkey at the Hans Christian Andersen museum and I thought it was neat. We missed the Christmas parade, which was a bummer.
On the way home, Dean suggested we stop in Griffith Park (a HUGE park in L.A. with lots of stuff there, but mostly everyone goes to the Observatory there) to see the Festival of Lights. We got to walk through (we think maybe this is the last weekend to walk through). It was so neat! We'd never been before and Jack had a blast! All his favorite things in one place, being outside, lights, music and of course, Mama and Dada!!! It was such a nice night, just a little cool, but not too bad and everyone was decked out in there hats, gloves and scarves. Only in L.A. do people dig that stuff out WHEN IT'S 65 DEGREES!!!! Dean and I, on the other hand were in flip flops, Dean had on shorts and I think everyone must have thought we are the worst parents ever since our kid was not only the only one without a blanket, but also without socks and shoes on (really, it wasn't cold at all). I guess that's what living in Utah for 3 years does to ya.
Here are some pics.
And on Monday, we went to Aunt Carol and Uncle Dave's house to see Santa. Here is a pic of Jack with Santa.

I know - that cracks me up when it's NOT cold outside and everyone is in winter coats, hats, and gloves! We had our work staff development/party today - we missed you!!!
